Honda Transmission Fluid Service: Drain-and-Fill Prices Compared

Compare a Honda dealer’s drain-and-fill and exchange menu prices and identify the transmission type, fluid, and fees before booking.

By How we research prices

Ed Voyles Honda publishes $149.88 starting for transmission drain-and-fill, $196.88 for a CVT exchange, $222.88 for a 10-speed exchange, and $317.88 for a six-speed exchange. The dealer says shop supplies and tax are not included. Its service menu gives the prices; the Honda CR-V owner manual is the model-specific reference for fluid and maintenance decisions.

Menu line Price
Drain and fill, starting $149.88
CVT exchange $196.88
10-speed exchange $222.88
Six-speed exchange $317.88

The CVT exchange is $196.88 - $149.88 = $47 above the starting drain-and-fill. The six-speed line is $168 above the starting line. Those are menu differences, not a reason to choose an operation that does not match the vehicle.

Drain-and-fill is not an exchange

Ask the advisor to identify the year, model, transmission type, Honda fluid specification, quantity, and operation. “Exchange” can imply a different fluid volume or equipment procedure than a drain-and-fill. Put the level check, new washer, leak check, reset, tax, and shop-supply treatment on the estimate.

The manual matters more than a generic mileage claim. If the vehicle is a CR-V, use the maintenance minder and exact manual; another Honda model may use a different transmission and interval. Do not add a CVT exchange to a quote because its menu number looks lower than a six-speed line.

Use Ed Voyles’ prices as a transparent dealer menu comparison and get a VIN-specific quote. The page does not establish a national Honda rate or final total.
